Law, Love and Betrayal: We know a man by the company he keeps
In episode 4 of Law, Love and Betrayal, tensions rise as Gugu and James are tasked with tracking down the source of incendiary tweets that sparked a major incident, while Ayanda digs deeper into the Mokoena land claim case. Here’s the recap.
Gugu’s moral dilemma

Gugu is briefed on the Fresh Pick case, one of G&A’s biggest clients. The case pits her against injured employees, which goes against her human rights principles, but Gatsha pressures her to take the case. Despite her resistance, she’s forced to comply.
The land claim mystery deepens

Fez questions Gugu about the low settlement in the Mokoena land claim case, revealing that the land was valued at R300 million, not the R2 million they settled for. Shocked, Gugu confronts Gatsha, demanding to know why he forced such a low settlement when he knew the land’s true value.
A blast from the past

A new character, Dintle, arrives in Thembisa, stirring up trouble. Something happened in the past between her, Thabo and Gugu, and now Dintle is asking Thabo for money. But why is she back, and what is she holding over him?
Gugu’s investigation turns risky

Gugu reluctantly works on the Fresh Pick case and discovers that the anonymous tweets came from Palesa Mohao, whose parents lost their supermarket to Fresh Pick. Instead of reporting this to James, Gugu holds onto the information, planning to use it later.
Ayanda and Lwazi’s dangerous discovery

Ayanda and Lwazi return to the Mokoena land to investigate the low settlement. They discover that Chairperson Mokoena disappeared, leaving angry residents behind. As tensions rise, the situation turns volatile.
Gugu’s plan backfires

Gugu tricks Palesa into admitting she runs the account that incited violence against Fresh Pick. But her plan backfires when Palesa’s lawyer countersues G&A, and Gugu’s threatening words are recorded and posted online. The fallout is swift, and Gugu is forced to step away from the case to protect her family.
Ayanda uncovers the truth

Sam tracks down Chairperson Mokoena, discovering that he took a bribe and deceived his people. Ayanda is devastated to learn that Gatsha orchestrated the entire scheme, but she lies to Gugu about it, even threatening her if she digs any deeper.
Gugu’s past comes back to haunt her

Thabo warns Gugu that Dintle is back and wants hush money. The question remains: What is the big secret from Gugu’s past that Dintle is threatening to expose? What is Gugu hiding?
