Living the Dream With Somizi Season 5 episode 1 tells his side of the story
Living the Dream With Somizi Season 5 episode 1 not only follows multi-talented media personality Somizi Mhlongo travelling to fancy vacations and going on shopping sprees, he fully lifts the lid on his personal life. In the tell-all Season 5, Somizi shares details that led to his divorce from Mohale Motaung, and the Idols SA judge is also on a healing journey following his mother Mary Twala’s 2020 death. Somizi holds nothing back as he shares his truth.
Usually, an episode of Living the Dream With Somizi starts with Somizi attending an exclusive party with his celebrity friends, but Season 5 begins on a sombre tone. In the opening scene, Somizi listens to the leaked audio of Mohale’s abuse allegations.
Never one to hold back on his opinion, Somizi agrees that the marriage wasn’t perfect. He further reveals that the red flags were waving at him but because he was blinded by love, he chose to ignore them.
“I tried in so many ways to make the marriage work, but it was dead,” explains Somizi, who is trying to remain strong while he fights his toughest battle yet. Later, Somizi has a conversation with his musician friend Vusi Nova, where they further discuss the fallout of his marriage and the audio. After the chat, Somizi takes in a deep breath and exhales, before he recites his affirmation: “Andizi, andizi, andizi,” loosely translated as, “I will not entertain the drama”.
On the other side of town, Somizi’s daughter Bahumi meets with her mother, Palesa Madisakwane, and they also share thoughts about Somizi and Mohale’s divorce. Like Somizi’s friends, his loved ones are worried about him as they understand the sensitivity of the issue and that Somizi was genuinely in love with Mohale.
To close the episode, Somizi has his most honest discussion yet about his divorce. He invites his friend of 23 years Lorcia Cooper to brunch, where they talk about his divorce. While Somizi’s divorce looks set to be the overarching theme in Season 5, the reality show will also shed light on Somizi’s father-daughter bond with Bahumi.
