The 5 best cases on Inspector Bediako
If you are looking for a fast-paced and suspense-filled series with a touch of action, mind games and charades that would bring out the detective in you, then the Ghanaian series Inspector Bediako is for you.
Directed by Ivan Quashigah, Inspector Bediako follows Inspector Ike Kojo Bediako Jnr (Anthony Woode) as he walks the same path as his legendary detective dad, Inspector Bediako Snr (Oscar Provencal). Get this, if you idolised Inspector Bediako Snr of the 90s then you have a new idol now in his son.
The younger Bediako is a ‘badder’, kick-ass and hotter version of his dad and has technology to his advantage as he gives criminals a run for their money with help from the force.
Working with an elite special unit who are all experts in their own fields, Inspector Bediako Jnr brings criminals to justice while also offering that great feeling of nostalgia from the past.
The all-new Inspector Bediako stars Vincent McCauley, Naa Dedei Botchwey, Richard Kalybos Asante, Brain Angels, Darlyn Adu Gyamfi and Ekow Blankson.
Looking for more reasons to watch Inspector Bediako on Showmax, here are top 5 of the best cases in the action-packed series.
1. Missing (S01 E1)
Inspector Bediako hits you with excitement right off the bat with the very first case. In a Game of Thrones-esque feud, two blood brothers turned rivals slug it out for a chieftaincy title they both claim as their birthright.
When the brother most favoured to ascend the throne is abducted, Inspector Bediako and his team have just 48 hours to crack the case or risk untold tension and clashes. Preliminary investigations point all accusing fingers at the other brother until Inspector Bediako and his partner, Grace Oye (Darlyn Adu Gyamfi) pay a visit to the wife of the abducted soon-to-be-enstooled chief. You would guess wrong when asked to preempt the mastermind behind the abduction. You would stop judging a book by its cover after watching this episode.
2. People’s Person (S01 E5)
If you are the type that believes everything you see on social media, this episode would be an eye-opener for you. Inspector Bediako and his team spring into action to unravel a money laundering syndicate in a campaign trail as an incumbent politician takes on his fiercest rival from the opposition party.
You have to wrap your head around well-crafted publicity stunts and disguises as you follow Inspector Bediako and his squad as they work to penetrate an impenetrable world of politics to make a huge bust that would change political history. Have this at the back of your head while watching this episode: “what a man can do, a woman can do better.”
3. Side Issues (S01 E13)
When a loving wife and mother is murdered in cold blood at her home, Inspector Bediako and his team of experts arrive at the scene to console a grieving husband and son while they do their job of finding the murderer.
The suspects in this case include the gateman, cleaner, plumber and a husband who loved his wife to bits and can do anything to make her happy. Sometimes when something is too good to be true, chances are that it is actually too good to be true. This episode stars Detective Wilmer Oppong (Niki Samonas) who jumps right into the pile on her first day at work.
4. Get A Job.Com (S01 E16)
While going undercover for a mission, Detective Wilmer (Nikki Samonas) falls prey to a sex trafficking syndicate. In a race against time to save his partner and other vulnerable girls, Inspector Bediako brings his dad (Oscar Provencal) out of retirement to help crack the case. In what can best be described as the best of both worlds, father and son combine their powers to solve the case.
5. Scam College (S01 E27)
Inspector Bediako and his team are thrown into the world of cybercrime as they face off with some of the nation’s fiercest cyber criminals led by high-profile personalities. The well-trained agents of the law are taken on a wild goose chase as they storm internet cafes and hideouts to bring an end to cybercrime in Ghana.
