The cast of Younger as you’ve never seen them
Younger has one of the best ensemble casts around. Sweet, steely Liza Miller just couldn’t have pulled off hiding her secret without her besties Maggie and Kelsey, and it just wouldn’t be fun without the love triangle between Liza, Josh and Charles. And would it even be worth going into the Millenial offices if Diana Trout weren’t there, with her acerbic wit and amazing neckpieces?
In celebration of the final season of Younger having landed on Showmax, we dug around on the internet to see who they were before TV superstardom and away from the Younger lens – and boy, were we surprised!
Sutton Foster (Liza Miller)
You might have picked up by now (from the amazing 9-5 singing scene in Season 6, if not before) that Sutton Foster has some serious singing chops. In fact, she’s won two Tonys for Best Actress in a Musical on Broadway, and is something of a Broadway legend.
Peter Hermann (Charles Brooks)
We may know and love him as Charles, but Peter Hermann was best known to Americans as the face of Persil washing powder. They’re such popular ads, they were even screened during the Superbowl. Oh, and he’s also German – he only learned to speak to English when he moved back to the USA when he was 10.
Nico Tortorella (Josh Lee)
While Josh might be the perfect embodiment of Millenial masculinity on the show, in real life Nico is not afraid to tap into his feminine side. Preferring the pronoun “they”, Nico’s wedding outfit might have raised a few eyebrows in conservative circles – but personally we think they look awesome. Check out their Instagram feed for more incredible fashion shoots that push the boundaries.
Miriam Shor (Diana Trout)
Like Sutton, Miriam Shor was also best known for her all-singing, all-dancing stage roles. Her film breakout came in 2001 when she was cast in the cult classic Hedwig and the Angry Inch as Yitzhak, a role she’d originated on stage.

Debi Mazar (Maggie Amato)
Debi Mazar has had a long, slow-burning career in a variety of roles – but 90s kids will recognise her in one of her first roles, in L.A. Law. But did you know that she’s also a TV chef? She and husband Gabriele Corcos own a restaurant in New York called The Tuscan Gun, and have hosted two shows on The Cooking Channel, Under the Tuscan Gun and Extra Virgin.

Hilary Duff (Kelsey Peters)
This is probably the best-known origin story of the bunch -Hilary Duff as sweet little Disney star. She’s best known as Lizzie McGuire, but she started out on TV at the age of 11, and has even had a pretty successful career as a pop star. Here she is belting out one of her Lizzie McGuire anthems.
Binge the full seven seasons of Younger now.
