The River: Andile’s engaged – and Lindiwe is not happy
Let’s be honest, Lindiwe has always had a problem with Andile’s sexuality. At one point, she even made his life so difficult that he ended up attempting to commit suicide. This was all because of his mother’s disapproval of who he chose to love. They managed to iron out their differences and it seemed like she was okay with her son’s homosexuality. However, it looks like her old feelings about Andile’s relationship are resurfacing. We’ve got the lowdown for you.
Will Lindiwe meddle in Andile’s love life?
This past week we saw that Lindiwe is still not 100% behind Andile’s love life. This was evident after she found out that Andile and Njabulo had proposed to each other. There’s another Dikana wedding on the way!
The lovebirds felt it was time to take their relationship to the next level after surviving many storms together. Their good news was well-received and celebrated by their friends and family members. Mbali was obviously happy for her brother, and Zweli also seemed to be excited for the couple. We also noticed that Zolani has warmed up to Andile and Njabulo’s engagement. However, the only person who doesn’t seem too pleased is Lindiwe. It was clear in her reaction after hearing the news. She’s made it clear that she doesn’t want her son to be treated like a “second class citizen” because of his sexuality and that she doesn’t want her child to get hurt.
We all know what she’s capable of and we’re hoping that she will not do anything to ruin this relationship. Let’s hope the new diamond that was discovered at the mine by Cobra will keep her busy for a while.
Khabzela apologises to Kedibone
We reckon all that all that time Khabzela spent on hating Kedibone could have been used to hear her side of the story. He would have probably resolved his issues with her much quicker if he had humbled himself and listened instead of attacking her. Years after his father was killed by Kedibone, in self-defence, Khabzela made it his mission to get revenge. He made her life miserable and threatened to kill her.
Things escalated after Kedibone made her way to the tavern to say her final goodbyes, as she was ready to leave Refilwe. Khabzela was also there and he saw this an opportunity to get back at her. He broke a beer bottle and pointed it at her and was ready to end her life. Flora, Paulina, Tumi and Lindini pleaded with him to stop but the taxi driver wouldn’t hear any of it. Things only got better after his mother arrived and had to tell him about the abuse she endured at the hands of his late father.
She got through to him and he finally let Kedibone go. After realising that he was in the wrong, Khabzela went to apologise to Kedibone and it now looks like things are back to normal, and Kedibone has decided to stay in Refilwe.
Things may be calm for now, but we have a feeling that it won’t be this way for too long. Make sure you follow all the latest drama on The River on Showmax. New episodes air 15 minutes after the DStv broadcast.
