The River: Njabulo back in Andile’s arms

Wouldn’t we all love to have a mother like Lindiwe Dikana? Imagine constantly messing up and having someone who’s always willing and available to fix your mess? Or even better, having a person who will make sure that your ex takes you back after dumping you. Andile is certainly one lucky guy!

Things fell apart after Njabulo told Andile that he had an affair with another man, Mondli. The news wasn’t well received and sent Andile into a drinking and partying spree. He went on a downward spiral and his mother didn’t like it one bit. She took it upon herself to make sure that Njabulo and Andile end up back together.

Lindiwe plants a seed

After her threats to Mondli didn’t work, Lindiwe cooked up an even bigger plan. She framed him for stealing diamonds and then Khanyisa Diamonds looped Detective Tshabalala in on what she had planned. His job was simple: get Mondli arrested. Mondli stealing diamonds would not be so hard to believe because he did a similar thing when he was in Argentina.

So, Lindiwe was right on the money! While Njabulo and Mondli were driving they were stopped by the cops and their car was searched. Diamonds were found and all fingers pointed at Mondli. This was enough to bring tension between the couple and it made it easy for Njabulo to remember what he had with Andile. He told Mondli that what they have is lust, not love. Ouch!

Mondli promise to leave

It was clear that Mondli wouldn’t win this fight and he wanted to clear his name. He headed to Lindiwe’s office and begged her to drop the charges. “I can’t afford to go to prison. I’m begging you.” He soon realised that it wouldn’t be easy to convince Madlabantu to do the right thing. Lindiwe made sure that she embarrassed and humiliated him. She asked him to get on his knees and tell her exactly what he would do.

“I’ll leave. I’ll break up with Njabulo and find another job far from here,” Mondli said, while he was on his knees. He really didn’t know who he was dealing with and had to learn the hard way.

Andile and Njabulo back together

Lindiwe won this round and got exactly what she wanted because Njabulo, who realised that he had made a big mistake, apologised to Andile. He came clean about wanting to take the easy way out when they were having problems in their relationship. Well, his speech touched Andile and he was back in his arms. The only thing Andile wants now is for them to take things slowly.
