Uthando Lodumo Season 2 episode 4: The families make peace
In Uthando Lodumo Season 2 episode 4, the Simelane and Maphumulo families finally decided to meet talk things through. There was no drama this time around, just a couple of requests and suggestions regarding a way forward. The two families had been feuding since Babes and Mampintsha’s wedding, with Babes going as far as fighting with Mampintsha’s mother on the internet. Well, now they’re ready to put their differences aside.
Everybody wants a cow

When they sat down for their meeting, Mampintsha’s mom requested a goat, cow and sheep. She gave her reasons. “A sheep for my neighbours who came to the wedding with me, they were with me from morning to afternoon.”
She added that she wants to braai for them. “Just to show that we as a family have made amends, so that they can stop asking about it and get over it.”
Mampintsha started making calculations in his head. “I’m thinking, we’ll probably be sitting on R200 000 by the time we get to Babes’ father’s request,” he said.

Babes’ father also asked for a cow, with Babes adding that she wants “one of those cows with a hunchback”. Obviously, everyone started laughing at all these requests. At least there was some joy for once, instead of the constant disagreements.
Babes’ mother and sister also wanted cows. “Seeing as though everyone wants cows and so on, personally, I would like a bovine cow, if that’s what it’s called. A bovine without the hunchback,” her mother said.

One wish
After getting the cow chat out of the way, Babes’ father asked if the couple would still have a white wedding. Mampintsha’s initial reaction was: “The timing of this question is off because I am thinking of all these cows and sheep we still need to buy. I am calculating my budget and it’s taking a knock.”
He told Babes’ father that they would need to sit down and set a date for the wedding that everyone would be happy with. “Now that we’ve sorted things out, we can meet during the week to set a wedding date.”
This made Babes’ father happy because one of his wishes is “to see my daughter leaving the Simelane home in a white gown”.
Babes and his mother even hugged after she said she apologised to their son, Sponge, who looks like her. Babes: “The bond in conversations and laughter is what I’ve always prayed for.”
They’re proud of themselves for getting their families together.
