Housekeepers S1-3

Behind their high walls and luxury, the wealthy believe they are powerful in the comfort of their mansions, but it’s the housekeepers who see all and know all in the SAFTA-winning drama Housekeepers.

SAFTA nominee Thando Thabethe (Reyka, How to Ruin Christmas, Love Lives Here) returns in Season 3 as undercover agent Linda, aka the “house help”, alongside AMAA nominee Paballo Koza (Dora’s Peace, Riding with Sugar) as her brother, Mtho. In varsity and adjusting to his and his sister’s new financially secure reality, Mtho is accused of a shocking crime. Can Linda prove his innocence while keeping her true identity hidden from her dangerous new employers?

Returning cast members include SAFTA Lifetime Achievement Award winner Connie Chiume (Gomora, Black Panther) as Maria Motsepe, alongside Gabriel Mini (Inxeba: The Wound, Abomama) as Detective Conway, and SAFTA winner Tiffany Barbuzano (Still Breathing) as Detective Venter.

SAFTA winner Kenneth Nkosi (Blessers, White Wedding, District 9, Tsotsi) joins the cast this season, alongside Buyile Mdladla (Spirit Sundae, Isibaya), Ernest Ndlovu (iNkaba, Isibaya), Andile Mxakaza (Isibaya, Zone 14), Fezile Makhanya (Rockville, Black Tax, Zone 14), award nominee Noxolo Dlamini (Jiva!, Silverton Siege), and Chichi Letswalo (Lingashoni, Isithembiso).

Season 2 of Housekeepers earned SAFTA nominations for Best Supporting Actor – TV Drama, for Lindani Nkosi, and Best Original Score – TV Drama, for composer Zethu Mashika (Recipes for Love and Murder, Gomora, Queen Sono).

An M-Net and Mzansi Magic Original from Ochre Moving Pictures, the series’ showrunner and head writer for Season 3 is Portia Gumede (iNkaba, Sokhulu and Partners, Izingane zoBaba), who shared the show’s 2021 SAFTA for Best Achievement in Scriptwriting with co-writers Duduzile Zamantungwa Mabaso (The Queen, Uzalo, DiepCity) and Lufuno Nemungadi (iNkaba). The writing team also includes SAFTA nominee Sunni Faba-Gutu (How to Ruin Christmas, The Herd), while Season 3’s directors include SAFTA winners Zuko Nodada (Matatiele, Hope, Isono) and Natalie Haarhof (Legacy, Izingane zoBaba, Sokhulu and Partners II).
