Bhai’s Cafe (2019)
Bhai’s Café adds comedy laughs to a tale of love on Showmax.
Bhai’s Café isn’t just the title of this 2019 local comedy movie – it’s the focal point of the film, where shopkeeper Bhai (Mehboob Bawa) is the friendly uncle willing to dispense advice, happy to lend a helping hand to his customers, and just be a nice guy. But the Cape Town businessman is under threat as a cruel property developer tries to take over the suburb of Wynberg. And obviously that’s where something interesting happens…
Siv Ngesi plays Patrick, the heir to a developer empire, and Suraya Santos plays Rashmi, Bhai’s daughter. See where we’re going? It’s love at first sight and the pair are instantly smitten, unaware of who the other is and how their worlds are about to clash.
There’s loads of laughs. There’s romance as Siv and Suraya’s characters try to unite their fathers in peace. And there’s dance and song – did you ever think you’d see Siv performing like a seasoned Bollywood star?
