Catch-22
The six-episode screen adaptation of Joseph Heller’s dark and satirical novel of the same name revolves around Yossarian, a bombardier during World War II who is baffled as to why complete strangers are trying to kill him.
Also: every time he nears his final mission, the army increases the number of missions that need to be flown before he’s discharged.
Catch-22 is starring and produced by George Clooney, with Christopher Abbott as Yossarian.
Financial Times wrote, “In a tale full of paradoxes, the style is both glossy and visceral, which feels exactly right.” And the Daily Telegraph called it both hilarious and heartbreaking, saying, “Its sense of loss and creeping madness was deftly woven into a narrative that was often laugh-out-loud funny.”
