Dreams of Gomorrah
Dreams of Gomorrah is a coming-of-age story about an aspiring young artist whose life is upended when she falls in love with another woman while preparing to get married to her man.
When Phiwo arrives in Durban from the rural area of Nkandla, she intends to marry a pastor and start a new life. But her introduction to the city is brutal, and left stranded without money, she finds help from a local prostitute. Thandi helps her return to her aunt’s house, and safety.
It’s the start of an unlikely friendship – and more – that opens Phiwo to aspects of herself she didn’t know existed. Will she go through with her marriage or plunge into a dangerous new world?
