Gringo (2018)
Harold Soyinka (British-Nigerian actor David Oyelowo) is broke and about to be dumped by his wife, and when he’s sent to Mexico by his employers he spots an opportunity to fake his own kidnapping and make money off the pretend ransom. Unfortunately for him, the situation turns horribly real.
Charlize Theron, Joel Edgerton and Amanda Seyfried star in this crime comedy, alongside South African Sharlto Copley as Mitch, the mercenary-turned-humanitarian who’s sent in to retrieve Harold.
The Chicago Sun-Times says: “Director Nash Edgerton and screenwriters Anthony Tambakis and Matthew Stone do a fine job of juggling the multiple storylines, moving things along at an entertaining clip.”
