How Pearl Thusi discovered DJ Zinhle’s pregnancy
DJ Zinhle and her best friend, media personality Pearl Thusi, had agreed to have their second babies at the same time. Although things didn’t go as planned, Zinhle still wanted to go through her pregnancy journey with her bestie.
Before revealing the news to Pearl, who had been shooting a movie in Thailand for a couple of months, Zinhle told Nomuzi that she was feeling nervous. “My heart is pounding,” she said. “I have not seen her; I have not told her. This is going to be the first time; she’s going to freak.”
Sharing the good news
Pearl walked in a few minutes later. Zinhle was a bit worried that Pearl could see that she was pregnant. “Pearl knows me, we lived together for a long time at some point. She knows my body, so I’m thinking maybe she can pick something up.”
Zinhle started tearing up and hugged her friend. She admitted that she wasn’t ready to tell her but had no choice as Pearl was in the area and decided to stop by.

The DJ told Pearl that she wanted to share some news with her but couldn’t because she needed to make it work for herself first. “I’m happy, I’m not depressed about it, it’s a good thing,” she said.
She continued: “I wanted to share it with you earlier, but I couldn’t. But I’m sure you’ll be happy for me, and we’ll be able to share the rest of my pregnancy together.”
Grateful and beyond blessed
Pearl was taken aback and asked if Zinhle was serious. She then gave her a hug, proving that she was really happy. She asked how far along she was and gave a huge reaction when she found out. “That’s why I’ve also been weird,” Zinhle explained. Pearl shared that she had a tonne of questions but didn’t know where to start and added: “I’m happy for you. I kind of also said it would be great if we did this…”

The show was filmed a few months ago and Zinhle recently shared that she had given birth to her second baby, Asante. She said she and her partner were “grateful and beyond blessed”.
