Instant Family (2018)
Pete and Ellie’s relatives scoff when they mention the idea of having kids. So, to prove them wrong, they decide to adopt. Attending a fostering open day, they meet sassy teen Lizzy and her cute siblings – and suddenly find themselves a party of five.
This sweet comedy starring Rose Byrne and Mark Wahlberg charts their journey from individuals to becoming a family. Eagle eared viewers may recognise Isabela Moner, the talented teen who plays Lizzie, as the voice of Dora the Explorer. Oscar winner Octavia Spencer steals the show as social worker Karen.
The movie scored a very respectable 82% on Rotten Tomatoes, and FlickDirect said: “Instant Family is a feel-good film during the holiday season and one that should be seen by everyone as it might just start a much-needed dialogue.”
