King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017)
Update: King Arthur has left Showmax. Find your next binge in the full movies catalogue here.
In this alternate retelling of the King Arthur story, Arthur grows up scrappily on the streets after his royal parents are murdered. In his father’s dying moments, he entombed the sword Excalibur in stone, only to be released by the one true king. Arthur must decide whether to accept his responsibilities and save the kingdom from the evil Vortigern.
Charlie Hunnam stars as King Arthur, while Jude Law is perfectly cast as Vortigern. Eric Bana is Arthur’s father, Uther. Guy Ritchie directs this all-action film that turns medieval legend on its head.
