Ready Player One (2017)
In 2045, the Earth is in chaos, but humans have found refuge in a virtual reality universe, OASIS. When the creator dies, he leaves the key to his fortune hidden in OASIS, and an unlikely hero is determined to find it.
In its review, The Hollywood Reporter said, “A rollicking adventure through worlds both bleak and fantastic, Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One makes big changes to the specifics and structure of Ernest Cline’s best-selling novel but keeps the spirit and level-up thrills intact.”
While Empire said: “Spielberg has seemingly done the impossible: balancing sugar-rush nostalgia with an involving story to create a pure, uncynical, cinematic ride that recaptures the magic of his early films.”
