Rockville brings in Thulisile Phongolo in new season
Good news for Rockville fans – Rockville, one of SA’s best-loved drama series, will return for Season 5 in April with actress Thulisile Phongolo joining the cast.
In the new season, Thulisile will play the role of Buhle, an unemployed law graduate from rural KwaZulu-Natal. Buhle’s life is turned upside down after an attempted abduction thrusts her into a sophisticated criminal network run by Kalashnikov, played by Siyabonga Shibe.
The last four seasons have told the story of JB (Shona Ferguson), a high-flying underworld figure involved in the business of running a prostitution ring at his top-class cigar lounge in Sandton. The business dominated the underworld scene and caused a rift between JB’s middle-class family and that of his working-class in-laws.
But everything’s falling apart in the fifth season, as JB and his wife, Lindi (Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa), have to face the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. He’s out of money and creditors are knocking at the door – threatening his flash lifestyle.
Season 5 will also welcome Wizeman Zitha, Kwezi Ndlovu and Thabisile Zikhali, among other great talents.
We can’t wait to get a first look at the new season!
Watch Rockville Season 5 from 4 April 2021 on Showmax, express from Mzansi Magic. In the meantime, Seasons 1-4 of the show are available to binge-watch on Showmax.
