Say what now?! Khanyi’s unfiltered quotes on Mbau Reloaded S1

One thing we love about Khanyi Mbau is that she’s unfiltered. The self-proclaimed “Queen of Bling” isn’t afraid to tell it like it is, even if what comes out of her mouth might leave some feeling uncomfortable. She’s loud, proud and 100% herself, and we are here for it.

Here are just some of her most unfiltered quotes on the new show Mbau Reloaded.

“I’m dealing with a spectator and a child”

While having a conversation about her daughter, Khanukani, Khanyi described the teenager as a “spectator”. It’s not always easy juggling parenting and being a celebrity. She shared: “Raising a 13-year-old girl, being a ‘me’ is so hard because all the rules I apply, all the policies I try and implement and all the guidelines that I give are always weighed against who I was on Instagram and who I am this morning.” She added: “So, I’m dealing with a spectator and a child.” Khanyi said dealing with her child was like dealing with a criminal lawyer who had questions about everything.

Surgery is like makeup

Have you ever wondered how many times Miss Mbau has been under the knife? Well, fortunately, she’s very open about that part of her life. During an interview with YFM’s Khuthso Theledi, The Wife actress was asked about her body transformation. “I think I’ve lost count on things I’ve done to my body.” She likened surgery to putting on makeup.

“How many times have you put on foundation on your face? Do you understand? It’s literally just enhancing my feeling. It’s just that I go skin deep,” she told Khutso. She also spoke about the countless procedures she’s had done in the last couple of years. “I have had three breast augmentations. I’ve had liposuction twice. I’ve had a tummy tuck. I’ve had fillers done on my face. I’ve got fillers on my nose. I’ve got a brow lift, I’ve got a chin enhancement. I’ve had skin lightening.”

“I’m chasing the Avatar look

So, does Khanyi have a dream look that she’s chasing? Yes, she certainly does. In the same interview with Khutso, Khanyi shared that although she’s passed the “Barbie phase”, she still hasn’t reached her ideal look. “I am actually trying to chase the Avatar look because I think the Avatar is mystical and so interesting, and it’s so funny that I actually said if I could turn body blue I’d do it.”

“I want money to still call me”

We can all agree that Khanyi has lived many lives. She’s had it all and lost it all, only to come back stronger and better. She explained to podcaster MacG that the pandemic forced her to downgrade her lifestyle. “I had to downgrade. I downgraded my house, I downgraded the car; the Merc is gone – I had to sell it. I wanted another Porsche.” However, when Khanyi downgrades, she still maintains luxury.

She explained: “You can’t downgrade hard into hardships because the poverty will follow you. You downgrade into manifestation,” she said, adding that she still wanted to keep her expensive stuff. “I still want money to call me … Money must still recognise me and be like, ‘that’s my girl’ because if I’m in a funky car it’s gonna pass me.”

“I think I must try a white guy!”

Because her skin tone has become so much lighter over the years, many people have started comparing Khanyi to a white person. Even her own brother has called her a white person. She’s now convinced this could mean she should just date a white man.

Khanyi jokingly said: “I think I must date a white guy. I’m gonna go to different places that I don’t know, I’m gonna holiday different, it’s just gonna slap different. I think I must try a white guy! Now when you already call me white, so I might as well make it official.”

However, it’s good to note that Khanyi is happily dating her bae Kudzai Mushonga.
