Single Kiasi S3 First Look: "We're throwing the girls into the deep end"
Nairobi’s dating scene is about to get messy: Single Kiasi is back for a third season on 5 March 2024, with new episodes releasing every Tuesday.
Launched in 2022 as the third Showmax Original in Kenya, Single Kiasi follows three women as they navigate friendships, romance and careers in Nairobi.
The show has appeared in the top 10 most-watched titles of the year on Showmax in Kenya for two years in a row. The hit drama series was also nominated for Best TV Series at the 2023 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCAs) and Best Viewers’ Choice and Lead Actress (for Gathoni Mutua) at the Kalasha Awards in 2022.
“We are very honoured by the love Single Kiasi has received so far, and for all the award nominations,” says director Philippe Bresson. “It means that we are doing something right for our audience, and that they watch these three women’s lives on screen and are able to connect with them. We can’t wait to show them what’s next.”

Single Kiasi S3 delves deeper into the lives of Rebecca, Sintamei, and Mariah as they navigate the complex web of relationships, self-discovery, and unforeseen challenges.
“Season 3 is going to be our best one yet. The fans can expect a sexier, fast paced, and exciting new season,” says co-director Grace Kahaki. “We challenged ourselves and the cast to tackle deeper and more challenging issues while still maintaining the heart of the show. This season we are throwing our girls into the deep end, and it’s either they swim or drown.”

Rebecca (Faith Kibathi), still reeling from being left at the altar last season, finds solace in her new job as an assistant to her ex-boyfriend, Nick (Lenana Kariba, who makes a comeback from Season 1). As they spend more time together, old feelings resurface, and they cautiously embark on a romantic relationship once again. Will it succeed this time?

Meanwhile, Sintamei (Gathoni Mutua) embarks on a journey of exploration by embracing polyamory with Giselle (Ciku Shire) and Marcel (Quincy Rapando), while Mariah (Minne Kariuki) grapples with the realisation that her once unwavering beauty is fading. Desperate to regain her youthful allure, Mariah resorts to extreme measures to alter her physical appearance.

Single Kiasi S3 adds Nini Wacera (Country Queen), Jimmi Gathu (Kina), Ilya Frank (Salem), Briyanna Wanjiku (Famous), and Wanjira Longauer (Disconnect: The Wedding Planner), with cameo appearances from Joy Kendi, Fena Gitu, Bushra Sakshi, Yvonne Kisa, Kamene Goro, Anne Mwaura and Julius Otieno.
Single Kiasi S3 is part of the robust and exciting February 2024 slate launching on the revamped Showmax platform with a brand-new look, new app, and entirely new product suite. The Kenyan drama joins 20 other Showmax Originals from South Africa, Nigeria and Ghana, including serial killer thriller Red Ink, high school drama Youngins, new seasons of hit dramas Flawsome and ENO, as well as international hits like Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and so much more.
Ends.
