Showmax spotlights Tana Adelana: From teenage model to actress, TV presenter and producer
Christiana Nkemdilim Egbo-Adelana, popularly known as Tana Adelana, has a gift of excellence. She aces every new endeavour she takes on and every hat she wears, from model to presenter, wife, mother, actress, and producer.
She first came into the entertainment industry when she was only 16 years old in 2000 as a model. She made a switch to presenting in 2001 when she auditioned and became the host of MTN’s Yello TV show. She soon became the first-ever Nigerian presenter on Channel O. Tana also hosted notable shows like M-Net’s Let’s Dance, Peak Talent show, Zain Naira show, and more.
As an on-air personality, she won the 2005 Grind Awards, the 2011 Future Awards and received numerous nominations. In 2015, she went back to TV, presenting her show Uncensored With Tana.
Tana took a break from Entertainment when she got married in 2007 and had her babies. She made her return in 2012 on a new path as an actress in Pascal Amanfo’s Single and Married, playing the role of Mrs Ranesh.

Since then, she’s appeared in numerous Nollywood movies and television series, including Couple Goals, Bait, Marriage Trap, Blue Date and many more. Perhaps her most significant role yet, Tana playing Tola Sodiq on Body Language, won 2018’s Best of Nollywood Awards for Best Actress and the 2019 City People Best Actress Award. She also won the City People award in 2017 for Best Supporting Actress.
Tana produced her first movie in 2015, Igenne: Tears of A River. She later released More Than Just 4 Letters in 2018 and Achalugo in 2021. She’s never directed a film, but the 37-year-old is training for it. Her certificates from the University of Lagos, Makeup Art School London (South African campus), and Metropolitan School of Business and Management, United Kingdom, prove that she achieves what she sets her mind to and enjoys learning new skills.
A great love for entertainment drives Tana Adelana, so it’s never a question of whether she’ll
continue to make a mark, but what she’ll do next. In her words from an interview with Pulse, “I love everything entertainment; it’s my first baby. I sleep entertainment; I wake up with entertainment. I can’t see myself doing anything else. I love the camera, and I think the camera loves me too – act, present, act some more, produce, and the list goes on.”
