The Pagan King (2018)
There’s drama, drama, drama when any kind of society wants to force their way of life and religion on another. And fictional action movie The Pagan King is no different as the people trying to impose their way on others will pay with blood and tears in the 13th-century setting.
Strapping young Namejs (hottie Swedish actor Edvin Endre) is the new king in town, well, the fictional kingdom of Semigallia to be precise. He wears the sacred ring that grants him this power, but he has one problem: rebel Christian influencers want to barge their way into his homeland with crucifix in hand and take this people’s land and livelihood.
This will not stand: Let the battle begin!
Besides the kickass fight scenes, this film also features stunning Latvian scenery, from mountains to the lake region, which add to the 13th-Century feel. The fights are vicious and the acting is good from a largely unknown cast.
