The River: Emma beats Lindiwe at her own game
It’s no secret that Lindiwe will do absolutely anything to protect her family. We’ve seen this in the past and she’s even gone as far as killing people to ensure she gets what she wants. While she is a very smart woman who tends to get her way, this time, it looks like she has met her match.
When she came back to her home after being away for a while, she discovered that a lot had changed. The mining mogul was very shocked to find that Zolani had not only met a new woman, but he was also planning to marry her. A lot can happen in one week, right? As much as Zolani claims to love Emma, Lindiwe is convinced that she’s not who she claims to be.
Lindiwe plans to destroy Emma
At first, she demanded that Emma leave her house but Zweli and the rest of the family didn’t think that this would be a good idea. The fake doctor did a really good job of making sure they all fell in love with her. When chasing Emma out of her mansion didn’t work, Lindiwe came up with another plan. She told Tshabalala to dig up anything that he can find about her new daughter-in-law-to-be so that she can have the upper hand.
As expected, the corrupt cop discovered that Emma’s been lying about being a doctor. Lindiwe was, of course, thrilled with the news. She pretended as if she was cool with Emma, knowing very well that she was planning to expose her in front of everyone.
However, just as she was about to have her moment during a family dinner, Tshabalala walked in and wanted to speak to Lindiwe urgently. He told her that Emma is indeed a real doctor. “I ran a check on Emma – she’s qualified. I checked with the Medical Council and she’s registered,” he told her.
Lindiwe was obviously disappointed as she didn’t see this one coming. But this didn’t stop her from wanting to discredit Emma, and she came up with another plan.
During a conversation with Flora, she was reminded about Flora’s allergy to prawns and this inspired her to cook something up. Her idea was to make her famous French soup, add some prawns and ask Flora to stay for dinner.
Lindiwe’s plan backfires
She wanted to put Emma on the spot and prove that she’s a fake doctor. Lindiwe’s moment to shine finally came and while the family was enjoying her delicious food, Flora started having an allergic reaction. She was coughing and then ran out of breath. Just as everyone was trying to figure out what was happened, Flora collapsed.
Lindiwe asked Emma to help because she’s a doctor. The newly engaged con artist panicked and for a while it looked like the truth would finally come out. But it turns out, Emma has learned a few tricks from the streets and she used those to try and bring Flora back to life – and it worked!
Emma saved the day and the Dikanas have fallen more in love with her than ever. Will Lindiwe come up with another plan, or will she finally accept Zolani’s fiancé? Watch The River on Showmax. New episodes air 15 minutes after the 1Magic broadcast.
