The River: Lindani gives Tumi one last chance

We can all agree that 2020 has been a tough year for everyone, right? Everyone has been going through the most, including some of our favourite TV characters. If there’s one person who understands this now more than ever, it has to be Tumi. Her marriage fell apart right in front of everyone’s eyes and what did she do to fix the problem? Well, she went and cheated on her husband with his cousin. That obviously didn’t end well.

The bitter truth

Like any person who’s been cheated on, Lindani wanted to know what led his wife into another man’s arms. He blamed himself for everything and even went as far as wanting to find out all the details about the affair. That wasn’t such a good move because he got all his answers and it was a cringe-fest.

Tumi told Lindani straight to his face that she had the affair because Mabutho satisfied her better than he ever could. “He touched me in places you were scared to touch. He made sure that he didn’t finish until I’d been satisfied.” Was it necessary for her to go all the way there?

It was at this moment when we knew for sure that this marriage would never work out. After this very painful exchange, Lindani served Tumi with divorce papers and it was evident that they had come to the end of the road.

“I’m still under 30, yet already I have two failed marriages. I wonder what went wrong… 2020 has been a movie. I just want fast forward to where there’s no stress, a good life and I’m in love,” Tumi told Lindiwe.

A second chance for Tumi and Lindani

Well, she got her wish because she found herself in love once again as Lindani came back to give their marriage another chance. Is it just us or does love make you dizzy? Lindani told his wife that he reflected on the things that happened in the last couple of weeks and told Tumi:

“We exchanged words married couples shouldn’t exchange. I’d be lying if I said what happened didn’t hurt. It hurts. You broke my heart.” He added: “I can’t live without you and I don’t want to.”

Is cheating not a deal-breaker for Lindani, or does he love Tumi that much? Lindiwe believes that Lindani is emotionally blackmailing Tumi and has advised her to leave the marriage. Also, it’s clear that Tumi has checked out of this marriage and is only with him because she feels sorry for him. We don’t know about you but we honestly believe that this won’t end well.
