Trackers
Deon Meyer’s thrilling novel comes to life in this tense series that follows several interwoven storylines. South Africa’s top spooks have to put everything on the line to stop a potential terrorist attack; a bodyguard for hire wonders if he’s got in too deep when he has to find out what’s really behind his latest job; a shady archeologist is mixed up with some serious criminals, and a mysterious master tracker with a dark past has some suspicious plans.
It’s got everything a thriller should have: terrorists, smugglers, gangsters and dashing heroes racing against time to save the day.
Plus, it has some of South Africa’s top talent in the starring roles: Rolanda Marais plays Milla, a former housewife who goes from a life of domesticity to a life of intrigue when she inadvertently takes a job at a government agency; James Gracie is Lemmer, a former Special Forces operative who’ll need all his skills to unravel a mystery; Sandi Schultz is Janina Mentz, head of the Presidential Bureau of Intelligence, and Thapelo Mokoena is Quinn, her Chief of Ops. Trix Vivier plays mysterious Cornel “Flea” van Jaarsveld, and Emmanuel Castis is Suleiman, who’s on the run from the CIA and has Cape Town in his sights. As a co-production between M-Net, HBO’s sister network Cinemax and German broadcaster ZDF, Trackers is making history as a true SA TV event. Watch it on Showmax at the same time as it broadcasts on M-Net on Sunday nights.
