Vula Vala: Gift gets given the boot and Lefa drops the ball
Things have got very interesting between Owami and Mzi. The two enjoyed each others company while Teaspoon is still left heartbroken after Mzi embarrassed her in front of everyone in episode 6.
But as we know, it wouldn’t be a complete Vula Vala episode without the drama. In episode 7, Lefa goes missing on the day he has to discuss Mzi’s contract with sponsors.
Mzi has a lot on his plate
The Scorpion’s newest superstar has his hands full in more ways than one. In the absence of his uncle Bheki, he has been stepping up to ensure the smooth running of the supermarket. But when the fake mealie-meal supplied by Thembi makes customers sick, they start demanding a refund.
Things are heating up with Owami
While dealing with that, his newfound friendship with Owami and his relationship with Teaspoon is keeping Mzi very busy. Owami catches him off-guard with her question: “Who’s that girl you were with earlier – the one you left at the parking lot?”
He flat-out lies, saying, ”She works for me. She used to work for my uncle. She’s like family.” Just like that!
Sponsors choose Mzi over Gift
They say you’re only as good as your last performance, and Gift’s performance has been lacking for several games. The sponsor sang Mzi’s praises, and mentioned that they are spending a lot of money on Gift but that he’s not delivering. Mzi has definitely piqued her interest.
When Bra Rex asks the sponsor if she wants to cancel the deal, she responds by saying that she does not want to cancel the deal but would rather change it. The focus now moves from the underperforming and jealous Gift to Mzi Msomi.
We also know that Gift is having an affair with Bra Rex’s wife. Will he blackmail her in the hopes of getting his sponsor back?
Lefa drops the ball
At the party, Lefa asks one of the guys he messes with to disappear with him so they can go to their usual spot and hit a few lines (meaning that he wants to take drugs with them).
Owami goes out to look for him and finds him at a hotel passed out with his friend. The situation gets stickier as Lefa’s girlfriend, Millicent, witnesses all of this as well. Will she tell anyone about what she saw?
More secrets are to be revealed as the story unfolds. Vula Vala airs every Sunday at 20:00 comes straight to Showmax.
