Kyallo Kulture episode 2 recap: Heading for a crash
It’s all about seeing the past through new eyes in Kyallo Kulture episode 2. Over lunch at her mum’s place in Rongai, Betty revisits a terrible event in her life and shares the story behind her beautifully crooked smile. Grab a tissue, it’s a tearjerker!
Betty was hit by a matatu when she was only 17, while on her way to meet with friends in the CBD. Her injuries were bad—broken ribs, a fractured leg, a fractured collarbone and painful frictional burns on her face and neck meant that she had to undergo seven corrective surgeries during the months she spent in hospital. Brave, strong and supported by her family and friends, Betty kept smiling as she healed, never letting the scars from her past keep her from following her dreams.
She explains that as a mum today, she looks back at the accident from a new perspective and really understands what her mother must have gone through when it happened. Betty’s mum recalls poignant details from the day—how she gave her daughter bus fare, and how excited Betty was when she left home carrying her small purse—before sharing how she cried when she saw Betty in the ambulance and prayed for her daughter’s life to be spared.
Even Mercy, who is still not talking to Betty, sheds a tear when she recounts her experience of the trauma.
Speaking of… Mercy takes Gloria to a kart track to go racing! The sisterly bonding session comes to a literal standstill when Gloria is hit from behind!
We’re so happy that Gloria is fine, but we can’t help wondering when Mercy and Betty are going to come face to face. The two have still not made peace since that fateful night at Nakuru.
Could they be heading for a crash?
