Life with Kelly Khumalo Season 3 episode 6: Why Kelly doesn’t respond to public scrutiny
While the last couple of years have been beautiful for Kelly, they’ve also been filled with a lot of harsh public moments. Since the Senzo Meyiwa trial started, Kelly has been trending on social media, with some people calling for her to be cancelled. The singer and her team have also been receiving interview requests from the media. We see how she and the team have handled all the public scrutiny in Life With Kelly Khumalo Season 3, episode 6.
“There’s just been like a lot of questions. People want comments… And obviously we’re declining all sorts of interviews at the moment,” Kelly’s PR manager, Bonnie, said. “A lot of things have been thrown at the Kelly Khumalo brand.”
Keep calm
Although one’s natural instinct would be to panic, Kelly has chosen to remain calm despite the circumstances she’s found herself in. “I don’t deal with panic. You know me… Because if you panic, you don’t think straight.” Kelly added that she’s not undermining her team’s concerns but believes that “the show must go on.”

“Are you going to stop every time someone throws stones at you? Because when you do stop they’ll keep throwing stones. But when you don’t stop they will know that whether they throw stones or not, you will keep going,” the businesswoman said.

Block the noise and keep it moving
She also commented about the Senzo documentary that came out earlier this year and suggested that one can’t take it seriously. “Remember they knocked at our door and we declined and we had to have Magdalene (attorney) involved? You remember they interviewed me under false pretences,” she reminded her team.
Kelly views all the negativity as noise. “We’ve been dealing with this matter for the past eight years. So, we’re not going to let people who are somehow feeling uncomfortable move us away from the focus.”
She wants to focus on making sure that everyone around her remains grounded and also wants to keep pushing the work. “So, that’s exactly what I’m doing now, but rest assured that everything will be dealt with accordingly,” Kelly promised.
