Life of the Party (2018)
What do you do when your husband of many years dumps you for a pretty real estate agent? Especially if you dropped out of college when you fell pregnant with his child and have been a devoted housewife and mom your entire marriage?
If you’re Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids, The Happytime Murders) you pull up your Spanks and go back to school to finish your archaeology degree.
What you probably shouldn’t do is sign up at the same university as your 22-year-old daughter Maddie (Molly Gordon), where she is in her senior year. Or befriend her sorority buddies Amanda, Debbie and Helen. Or her agoraphobic roommate Leonor.
Or go to frat parties and do the horizontal mambo with hot male students. Or get high at your ex-husband’s wedding. Really there is so much that Deanna (McCarthy) does wrong in Life of the Party that it’s the perfect amount of right.
Life of the Party is the third movie that director real-life married couple Ben Falcone and McCarthy have written together, including Tammy (2014) and The Boss (2016). It’s an absolute must-watch for comedy fans of every age and life-stage.
