Pics: The Real Housewives of Durban attend uMemulo
What would an episode of The Real Housewives of Durban be without a memorable event?
Last week we had Nonku invite the ladies to her wine launch event, which unfortunately didn’t go as planned.
This week, it was LaConco’s turn to show the girls what she enjoys doing with her life when she’s not super-busy.

Bead shopping with Annie
“I want the ladies to have an experience of my culture,” says LaConco.
LaConco took Annie shopping for beads for uMemulo and we must say, they looked great on Annie.

The ceremony
The Umemulo ceremony was nothing short of a beautiful experience for everyone.
The ceremony is held on behalf of Zama, a young woman who is part of the maiden group LaConco is mentoring.
All five women came in their best Zulu traditional attire with respect to the culture and LaConco’s invite.

Gifts come in many forms during an uMemulo, and Zama was gifted with a sum of money from all attendees.
Did you support Nonku?

Upon arrival at the event, Annie had a chat with Sorisha about Nonku’s event. Annie explained that Nonku’s wine launch had so many hiccups that they didn’t even drink her wine.
Sorish was not pleased with this revelation and felt that the other women could’ve worked on supporting Nonku during that difficult time.
Lunch is served

Although the event was a success, there was a bit of an awkward moment when Ayanda said that she wasn’t going to eat food that someone handed to her directly, especially when she didn’t know where the food had been prepared.

There must have been a small misunderstanding there as the food looked delicious!
