Pony up for a weekend of friendship and magic
Calling moms, daughters and bronies everywhere: the My Little Pony movie hit cinemas worldwide today. It promises to take you on a magical journey with Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Applejack and Rarity (and, of course, Spike, though we’re not sure how much good he’ll be), as they travel beyond Equestria to save Ponyville from the dark new force that threatens their home. It features the voices of big-name Hollywood stars, from Emily Blunt and Kristen Chenoweth to Liev Schreiber (!) and Zoe Saldana.
In the word(s) of Fluttershy: Yay.
To celebrate the cinema release, My Little Pony is treating fans to free live shows in South Africa. They’re in Sandton City in Johannesburg until 14 October, and offer all kinds of fun friendship activities every weekend. Read more here to join in.
What’s that you say? It needs to be about 20% cooler? (Yes, Rainbow Dash is obviously our favourite.) Check out this gorgeous music video of the Sia song from the movie:
In the meantime, Showmax has a magical collection that will keep your happiness levels at peak Pony this weekend.
