The Real Housewives of Durban: Ayanda shares about the day Sfiso died
Ayanda and Nonku are ready to build a solid relationship for the sake of their children. On The Real Housewives of Durban, the ladies had an intimate conversation about the man they both loved, late gospel singer Sfiso Ncwane.

Nonku wanted to know what happened on that fateful day and Ayanda was willing to share the details with her.
“Sfiso wasn’t sick,” she said. “It was a Sunday afternoon, on the 4th of December [2016]. He went to the loo. Suddenly I heard a big bang… I ran to the bathroom. When I got there I found him lying on the floor coughing up white phlegm,” she explained.

Sfiso’s final moments
She rushed him to the hospital and check were done. Ayanda revealed that she was then pulled aside and told about the seriousness of her husband’s illness.
“He was rushed to the ICU. They said his organs were shutting down.”
She said she was told to go home around 3am and to come back later because his condition had stabilised. She went back to the hospital at 8am and about an hour later, he passed away.
Although he is no longer alive, Ayanda is very grateful for the experience she shared with her husband in his final moments.
“God gave me one of the greatest chances in life, being able to hold my husband’s hand, take off his ring and watch him taking his last breath,” she said on the show.
Nonku got very emotional when she heard the story, and said she immediately dialled Sfiso’s number after hearing about his passing. “I wish I had those last few moments with him.”
For the sake of the kids
Nonku explained that the first person she thought of upon receiving the news was her daughter.
“Yes, she did not have a relationship with Sfiso but it was my desire. Sfiso… we were an item at one point. We lived together and then obviously the relationship ended just like any other relationship. Nothile is not something that just happened. We had Nothile and I really believe she was conceived out of love,” she said.

Ayanda is now willing to welcome and embrace Nothile. She even had a conversation about her with her two sons and they’re ready to meet and get to know their sister.
Does this mean Ayanda and Nonku will be the best of friends now? Maybe, maybe not. While they have a few things in common – including loving the same man – their only priority right now is for their children to have a healthy relationship.
