The 11 sauciest pick-up lines from Temptation Island South Africa
The four couples have finally arrived in paradise and they’re ready to put their relationships to the ultimate test in the local version of reality show Temptation Island.
All four pairs are at a crossroads in their romances: some of the couples question whether they can truly trust their partner; other want to figure out what’s stopping them from taking that next step to commitment. While in paradise, they’re dating other people to discover whether they are, indeed, committed to their relationship.
The men from the pairs have moved into one villa and the ladies into another. During their separation, the groups date attractive singles who are out to entice them at every turn. While they won’t see their significant others during this time, they will get tantalizing – or devastating – glimpses into what’s happening in the other villa at the bonfires.
By the end of the experiment, the pairs will decide whether they want to remain together, leave paradise alone, or dump their partner and begin a new relationship with one of the singles. These decisions won’t be easy and there will no doubt be plenty of tears– whether of happiness or heartbreak.
But before the couples are separated, they meet the singles who are vying for their hearts. In the first episode, the 20 singles each make their first impression with a pick-up line.
Sure, some were corny, but some were daring and laced with sexual innuendos so smouldering that it didn’t break the ice, but straight up melted it.
Watch Temptation Island South Africa from Thursday, 26 August, with new episodes every Thursday.
Our top pick-up line from the girls
Gigi Lamayne (26)
“I’m a musician and I can’t wait to sing on your mic and rap circles around you.”
Rating: 5 stars. The claws were out, and it was clear that Gigi ruffled feathers.
Nicole “Coco” Kaas (22)
“You can call me Coco. I own an upholstery company, so I’m used to seeing things get taken apart and put back together the way I want it done.”
Rating: 5 stars. Coco means business.
Dimpho Khoabane (21)
“I’m an up-and-coming musician, and I’m going to make sweet tunes with your man.”
Rating: 4 stars. It’s not what Dimpho said, but how she said it: with conviction and an attitude.
Eve Rasimeni (29)
Her name is Eve [and she’s an actress]. “If you’ve been told that the Garden of Eden is tempting, I guess you haven’t had a bite of me.”
Rating: 4 stars. Everything tells us that this lady is walking away with her Adam.
Angelique Samuels (28)
“Hello, couples. I’m in the fitness industry and I’m big into manifesting. So whatever I speak comes to life, and I’m not leaving here without my man.”
Rating: 3 stars. It’s simple: Angelique is clued up on the laws of attraction and this single is full of sass.
Bontle More (23)
“I sing and I own a swimwear line. I’m looking for someone to dive into the deep ends of love with me.”
Rating: 3 stars. This pool of men is ready to get into the deep end with Bontle.
Top lines from the guys
Dainamiaro “Dain” Ogulu (23)
“Good evening, ladies, I’m a sexy model from Nigeria. I might be standing on my two legs but my third leg holds me out.”
Rating: 5 stars. Something tells us this guy is not gonna be shy.
Calim “Muggz” Mgagula (28)
“I’m an exotic dancer.” [He breaks into a slow dance routine and winds his hips]. “I’m also a firefighter and I’m going to put your flame out.”
Rating: 5 stars. Someone, get the fire extinguisher – it’s suddenly hot in here.
Tats Nkonzo (36)
“I’m Tats, stand-up comedian. I’ve asked myself over 100 times why am I doing this, and I’ve had 100 different answers. But tonight, I only have four.”
Rating: 4 stars. That was smooth.
Minenhle “CeeJay” Mvubu (26)
“I am a musician. I know that I’m no Trey Songz or anything, but fellas, Mr Steal Your Girl is in the building.
Rating: 3 stars. CeeJay can’t wait to serenade these women.
S’bu Nqini (26)
“I’m 100% Xhosa. I got the sugar, spice and best believe, I’ll make you feel nice.”
Rating: 3 stars. There was a bit of aggression at the end of his statement. We can’t wait to find out what that is all about …
