Nonku Williams claps back: The Real Housewives of Durban Season 2
The much-awaited Season 2 of reality show The Real Housewives of Durban is streaming on Showmax, and it doesn’t come as a surprise that Nonku Williams is back as a main cast member. The fabulous 42-year-old entrepreneur and single mom was at the center of tension and turmoil throughout Season 1 … and Season 2 is gonna be bigger, better and badder for the Queen Bee!

Between trying to prove that she deserves a seat at the table at the expense of her friend Mabusi Seme and hosting a subpar wine tasting event for the ladies, Nonku rubbed the The Real Housewives of Durban cast the wrong way.
As if the women weren’t questioning her character already, Nonku and her mother Queen (who makes a cameo in Season 2) sent shockwaves through the group when they demanded that Ayanda pay damages on Sifiso’s behalf. The room went cold and Nonku had a target on her back that hasn’t gone away in the second instalment.
Mogul in the making
Nonku’s wine brand Ashes to Beauty Winery (A2B) is a luxury wine sourced from farms in Stellenbosch and the mother-of-three is very hands-on with her business, making sure that every bottle represents her vision for the brand.
“I’ve always wished that I could have the ability to bottle my life journey. The ups and downs, the lessons and victories, the sweet and sour moments. I have finally been granted my wish in the form of A2B Winery,” she says.
“To me, this wine collection is more than just four wholesome wines. My connection to this collection is the story of a bold journey of faith, commitment and victory. I want this wine collection to be a symbol and a taste of the best life that is to come,” says Nonku.
A shot at redemption
Nonku certainly enjoys the finer things in life. Her sense of style doesn’t go unnoticed. Whether she’s going to a dressy event, a boat trip or just lounging around her beautiful Durban home, the reality star isn’t setting a foot wrong when it comes to her kit.
As part of The Real Housewives of Durban trip to Cape Town that Nonku organized in Season 1, the Wives were taken to Stellenbosch to see where her wine came from – and it wasn’t the best of trips. So she’ll be hoping that second impressions will win over her co-stars this season.
Nonku’s life isn’t without challenges and like us at home streaming The Real Housewives of Durban, she’s had her ups and downs. After having a child with gospel sensation Sifiso, she found herself raising their daughter alone and not being able to answer young Nothile’s questions about her father growing up – she made these worries clear during a chat with Sifiso’s widow, Ayanda Ncwane.
Fighting back
Nonku also publicly opened up about being the victim of domestic abuse in her previous marriage. “I went through a horrible relationship. I was abused mentally, physically and emotionally. I was told I’d never amount to anything, but today you’re looking at a woman who’s found herself, who has found her identity. I know who I am, and I know what I stand for. Yes, the battle is hard. Every day I have to remind myself that I’m alive and I have promise. I have three beautiful children. I’m blessed. Every day I look at myself in the mirror and remind myself of that,” she said in an emotional video on her Instagram account.
She’s not just a wine mogul – she’s also succeeding in a traditionally male-dominated industry: construction. Her company focuses on low-cost housing, as well as logistics and transporting fuel, diesel and paraffin.
So don’t be surprised when Nonku claps back at her detractors this season – there’s no backing down from this Housewife and the claws will be out!
