The River: Lindiwe has another trick up her sleeve
The drama never stops on The River – and there was a lot of that last week from Cobra and his corrupt friends, Lindiwe’s schemes and Nomonde’s new relationship. Missed all the action? Don’t worry, we’ve got you. Plus, you can catch up whatever you’ve missed on Showmax.
Lindiwe is up to something
For a second, we were convinced that Lindiwe had changed after giving her life to God. We watched as she repented and promised that she would change. However, it seems like that was just as act. The mother of two is only pretending she’s a new person because she has no other option right now.
Her plan is to get everybody, including Jesus, on her side so that she can make her way back to the top. She’s willing to do whatever it takes to make sure that she turns lemons into lemonade. From what we’ve seen in the past, Lindiwe is more than capable of turning any situation around.
She's tired of being a watch tower for all of Refilwe to see, and she's using every resource in Refilwe to rise to the top again.#TheRiver1Magic

Cobra gets into corruption
They say a leopard never changes its spots. This seems to be true, especially where Cobra is concerned. If you’ve followed him on the show since it started, you’ll know that he’s committed many crimes, including hijackings and heists. Although he’s managed to turn his life around in the last couple of months, it’s evident that his criminal past still has a stronghold on him.
Cobra, who’s now working as a councillor, has been introduced to a new way of making money. Dora, another councillor, is teaching him how to make easy cash through tenders. Yes, Cobra is well on his way to becoming a tenderpreneur. And it’s not as difficult as you might think. All he’s had to do so far is create a fake company with his friend, Percy (who’s also a criminal, by the way). Tenders will be awarded to this company and they’ll all make loads of money in the process.
This is clearly not the best way to go for Cobra right now. Yes, money is tempting, but for someone who’s trying to live a clean life, he’s mixing with the wrong crowd.
Sis’Dora is chairing all meetings and has signing powers, meaning that Cobra and Percy’s business is in good hands.#TheRiver1Magic

Trouble in paradise for Nomonde and Lindani?
We’ll admit there’s nothing like the excitement that comes from being in a new relationship. From speaking on the phone for hours, to constantly wanting to be in the other person’s presence because you just can’t get enough of them. But this phase doesn’t tend to last that long, as we’ve seen in Nomonde and Lindani’s case. These two come from completely different worlds and their differences could result in the end of their relationship.
Nomonde now finds herself in a situation where she has to pretend she likes sleeping in Refilwe in a shack – all in the name of love.

As we’ve seen, she hates being in Lindani’s home and would rather they spend time at her family mansion. Does this mean she only likes him when it’s convenient for her? To make things worse, the miners discovered that she and Lindani are in a relationship, which Nomonde strongly denied, and made it clear to them that she’s never had any sort of relationship with him. In Lindani’s eyes, it looks like she’s ashamed of him.
Now that you’re up to date, you can continue to keep up with the latest episodes of The River on Showmax. New episodes air 15 minutes after the DStv broadcast.
