The River: Nomonde returns with a lot of trouble following right behind her
A lot has happened on The River in just one week. Emma is finally out of the picture, Nomonde is back in town and Kedibone’s new man is dying. Let’s catch you up on all the drama.
Emma is gone
Emma was warned a million times about how dangerous Lindiwe is. Did she listen? No! She was determined to win Zolani over and she just went too far. So, it turns out, the shots Lindiwe fired in her direction didn’t hit her at all.
She survived but she lost the man she claimed to love. Emma then made her way to Refilwe to beg her cousin Beauty to forgive her for everything she had put her through and even asked for money so that she could go back home.
However, Beauty didn’t want to hear any of that and told Emma to leave her alone. We can’t say we feel sorry for her after everything she’s put the Dikanas through.
What is Nomonde running away from?
While Emma made her exit, Nomonde has made her much anticipated return. After being MIA for months, Zweli’s eldest daughter unexpectedly stormed into the Dikana mansion, but she didn’t receive a warm welcome.
You can’t blame her family because they have every right to be mad at her. Nomonde left without a trace and didn’t even go back home for Mbali’s funeral. Who misses their own sister’s funeral? When asked where she’s been, she told her family that she was working as a volunteer in Vietnam.
And it turns out, this was a lie. Nomonde was living her best life with a prince. She told Vero that she met this man at a party. “I was in Qatar and he invited me. I agreed.” The prince noticed her, they had a chat and he flew her to Greece for ice cream. “I was in love. We were in love. He spoiled me. I got everything I wanted. Then Mbali died. What was I supposed to do? Come back home?… I couldn’t have brought her back to life.”
While she was happily relaying the story to Vero, a woman walked in and Nomonde was shook. From her facial expression, you could tell that this woman means nothing but trouble. She asked Nomonde if she should call Prince Abdul. “How did you find me?” Nomonde asked. From that very brief encounter it’s clear to see that Nomonde is running away from something.
Kedibone and Nsizwa’s relationship could end in tears
Meanwhile, a beautiful love story has been brewing in Refilwe. Kedibone met a man who happens to be Paulina’s uncle, Nsizwa. For the past couple of days they’ve been getting to know each other. They have fallen in love and are ready to be in each other’s lives forever. But it looks like their love story might be short-lived because Nsizwa revealed to Paulina that he has kidney failure.
He got teary as he shared the news with his niece. “I go for dialysis. The problem is the machines aren’t working. I get up every morning and wait at the hospital hoping that it will be working. But nothing. If it continues like this I will die. How do I tell Kedibone?”
Will Nsizwa be able to tell the love of his love that he’s dying? Watch The River right here on Showmax to find out. New episodes air 15 minutes after the DStv broadcast.
