The River: Nomonde’s kidnapped – for real

The thing about playing with fire is that you will get burned. This is a lesson Nomonde is learning the hard way. While she successfully managed to scam her family by making them believe that she had been kidnapped, the eldest Dikana daughter has now found herself in more trouble that she anticipated.

She and Vero had a great plan: stage a kidnapping and demand R6 million from Zweli and Lindiwe. Their mission was well-executed, and they got the cash. They celebrated, not knowing that the Dikanas would find out the truth about the fake kidnapping, thanks to Tshabalala.

Nomonde’s lies catch up with her

After paying Mantwa what was owed to her, Nomonde thought she’d be able to go back home to her normal life. However, Mantwa had other plans. She realised that she could get more money out of the Dikanas and ended up kidnapping Nomonde – for real this time. She then called Zweli, who was fed up because his daughter had lied to him.

When Mantwa spoke to Zweli on the phone, she demanded a ransom of R5 million for Nomonde’s freedom. Of course, at this point Zweli was already over Nomonde and her deceitful ways and didn’t believe this story. He told Mantwa where to get off.

Kedibone fights for Nsizwa

While Nomonde now seems to be fighting a losing battle, there might be hope for Nsizwa. For months, he has been fighting tirelessly to get the public healthcare system to get him on dialysis, with no success. His health has also been deteriorating and this has been a cause for concern for his loved ones. Although he had given up on ever getting better, Kedibone wasn’t about to let him die without a fight.

In an attempt to get her man the help he so desperately needs, she went to the hospital and demanded to speak to the superintendent. She told them that she wasn’t going anywhere, and even chained herself to a chair. When she finally got a chance to speak to the right person, Kedibone was told that the hospital had been begging for the past three years for the dialysis machine, which services 3 000 people, to be fixed.

These two deserve their happily ever after, right? If Nsizwa doesn’t marry Kedibone after this, then he’s wasting everybody’s time! Watch The River on Showmax. New episodes air 15 minutes after the DStv broadcast.
