The Wife Season 3 Episode 19-21: The Zulus score their first diamond heist
The Wife Season 3 Episodes 19-21 have landed on Showmax and let’s be real, things are getting more interesting. The royal family tries to do their utmost best to clean Naledi’s image following the sex tape scandal. The Zulus might have caught the biggest fortune yet but at the expense of an enemy, they probably don’t want to mess with.
Meanwhile, Hlomu’s plans to launch her restaurant don’t seem to go well and Qhawe finally gets to the bottom of his investigation and knows for sure who is behind the sex tape. Will he tell Naledi or will he act along so that he can beat her at her own game?
Last week’s intense episodes left us with a twist where one brother was left behind as they escaped a diamond heist gone wrong. As soon as they arrive home, they realise that they are missing Mqoqi. But before they could even start searching for him he shows up and explains how he escaped.
The Wife Season 3 episodes 19-21 are streaming now on Showmax. Let’s recap this week.
The royal family cleans up the mess
This week kicks off at the Royal Thabeng; the Tswana doctor decided to take a trip back home. As the princess, she has to answer some difficult questions about her leaked sex tape. The royal family holds a press conference inviting the community to hear what Naledi and the family has to say about it.
The royal family does a kind gesture to the community by donating R10 million to help matriculants from poor families with their tertiary studies. However, it doesn’t take long for journalists to start asking questions about Naledi’s tape.
Tshedi, determined to throw her sister under the bus, directs the questions to her sister so that she can face the music. Naledi took to the podium and answered the questions as best as she could. Her genuine and moving words are enough to have the whole room clapping after her speech. She announces “Thuto Ya Naledi Bursary Scheme”.
Tshedi is left ashamed and embarrassed that her plan didn’t work.
The first diamond heist
After their last diamond heist didn’t work, the Zulu brothers torture the conman until he weaves another plan that he thinks might bring them more money. The conman tells them that there are lots of mines in the North West that could potentially make them money. Talking about being greedy, the Zulu brothers strap up and head to Lerumo Mine on a daring move in their diamond business. They manage to complete the job when they get there, stealing the illegal diamonds with ease.
Xoli is then used to solicit a buyer and he gives them an offer they can’t reject. Everything goes according to plan and they get their money. Meanwhile, Kgosi is furious when he finds out that his diamonds are missing and wants answers.
Here’s what the Zulu brothers are not aware of – the diamonds they stole belong to Chief Kgosi Lerumo (Naledi’s father). Kgosi owns a mine that he uses as a cover for an illicit mining operation that has been digging up his people’s riches from underground and selling them off-shore illegally for years. When he finds out who stole his diamonds, there’ll be hell to pay.
Qhawe buys Naledi a house
With everything that’s happening between our two star-crossed lovers – Qhawe and Naledi, the love they have for each other remains strong. When the princess comes back to Joburg, little does she know that her Zulu man has a surprise for her. Blindfolded, he leads her to an extravagant house, then Qhawe removes the blindfold and shows her the house he bought for her.
Naledi’s reaction to the surprise wasn’t as pleasant as Qhawe expected. Overwhelmed by the surprise, Naledi faints to the ground.
