Watch: Hlomu The Wife, where Zandile takes her place in the Zulu family
It’s crunch time for the Zulu brothers after Mandisa burnt the money that was meant for Zandile from jail. While Mqhele goes out of his way to save his marriage, Hlomu on the other goes through great lengths to spite him.
If there was a saying that best describes these last four episodes it would be, “All is fair in love and war’. Let’s have a look at all the jaw-dropping moments from this week:
Mandisa continues to make life complicated for the Zulu brothers
As if Mandisa’s decision to burn Zandile’s prison-release money were not enough, she then goes and kidnaps the Commissioner’s wife after finding out that she’s been messing with Nqoba.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner wants his money or else the deal to release Zandile is off the table. Not only do they need to come up with a plan to raise the money, they also have to find a way to hide that Nqoba has slept with the Commissioner’s wife. But Mandisa beats them to it and kills the Commissioner’s wife. She asks Hlomu to help with dropping the body inside the house.
The Zulu brothers arrive to find a dead body in the bathroom and everyone is panicked. Mandisa says he killed her because she might tell the Commissioner what she did with Nqoba. Guess who walks in while all this is happening! You guessed it right – the Commissioner.
Nkosana quickly attends to him and assures him that he will get his money soon. But the Commissioner throws a curveball: he’s not here for money, his wife went missing, and he wants Nkosana to help find her. To make matters even worse, he gives Nkosana an ultimatum: “If you find my wife, then you’ll get your wife back.”
And of course, if the Commissioner ever finds out about their involvement, they are all in trouble.
Nkosana turns to the bottle
All hopes and dreams of getting Zandile out of prison are quickly shattered. First of all, the brothers have to work together to dump Palesa’s body by feeding her to the pigs. They do a clean job and are convinced they have got away with murder. But what they don’t know is that the Majolas have been following them.
Nkosana has a meltdown and starts drinking. His concern is that the commissioner will step down, and Zandile will end up rotting in jail.
Mqhele kills Sandile
Mqhele shows Hlomu how far he is willing to go to save their love and marriage. He decides to pay Sandile a visit, and tells him he knows that he slept with Hlomu. Sandile sees that Mqhele has a gun and pleads with him not to do anything.
He doesn’t kill him, but instead asks him to bring a bucket. Lost and confused he brings it, only to realise that he has to climb on it and hang himself. Mqhele gives him a choice: to end his life or he will kill all his family members. Mqhele assists him in hanging himself and it’s over for Hlomu’s ex.
When Hlomu arrives at Sandile’s place, it doesn’t take her long to realise that Mqhele was there and she sees Sandile hanging from the ceiling. Back at the Zulu mansion, Hlomu comes clean about what she’s been hiding from Mqhele. She tells the brothers that Mqhele killed Sandile, and then mentions that he also killed his own child when he hit her. “Remember when you kicked me, Mqhele? When you kicked me like a dog? I was carrying your child. I didn’t even get a chance to tell you”, says Hlomu.
The Zulu brothers pull a heist to help Zandile escape jail
Qhawe the strategist comes up with a plan to get Zandile out of jail, but it’s risky so he’s the only brother who doesn’t go. Pledging to have each others’ backs, they execute the plan and everything goes well. Zandile gets away scot-free, but how long will this last?
Meanwhile, Qhawe and Hlomu cross a line they cannot come back from. They share an intimate moment and end up making love. A moment we’ve all seen coming and been waiting for.
And just like that, it’s the end of the season for one of the most popular shows in Mzansi.
