Trainwreck (2018)
Amy Townsend’s dad had a simple mantra: monogamy is not realistic. She takes it to heart, and grows up to be a party girl with no interest in a real relationship. That is, until she meets a goofy sports doctor who finally cracks her hard exterior.
This movie is fun and a bit silly, but also very good – it was nominated for two Golden Globes, including Best Musical or Comedy and Best Actress for Amy Schumer, who won the Critics’ Choice award for the role.
And it has a fantastic cast, including Bill Hader (Barry), Tilda Swinton as Amy’s cold British boss, John Cena as Amy’s muscly love interest, and cameos from celebs including LeBron James and Matthew Broderick as themselves.
It scored 85% on Rotten Tomatoes, which said it has “sharp humor, relatable characters, and hilarious work from Amy Schumer.”
