Uthando Lodumo Season 2: Babes and Mampintsha are back
Bongekile “Babes Wodumo” Simelane and her husband, Mandla Maphumulo, popularly known as Mampintsha, have just dropped the first episode of Season 2 of their Showmax Original hit reality series, Uthando Lodumo. The controversial couple return to our screens with new episodes of Season 2 landing every Thursday.
After the first season of drama and fights, the couple promises to give viewers a second season of growth and correcting the mistakes of the past. In this season you will see a lot of communication between the two families, as they try to find ways to understand each other.
“In Season 1, we didn’t know each other’s families very well, so Season 2 is more of fixing all the mistakes,” Shimora shares.
Friends, family and media gathered in Durban on 31 August to watch the first episode exclusively during an intimate dinner hosted by Felix Hlophe with music from Que DJ.
Babes and Mampintsha continue to show the challenges that come with building a life with your partner. As Mampintsha strives to mend fences between his wife and his mother, it becomes clear that Babes is not about to step back.
The couple has difficult conversations about forgiveness and figuring out the ways of marriage and parenting this season. “We have Bishop Dube, who has walked with us through this journey, for marriage counselling,” Babes says, after speaking about the challenges of being married and being a mother.
The couple, who are now mom and dad to “Sponge”, have deliberately hidden their son’s face from the public. This has been an important decision for them as parents who are protecting their cub. “We decided to not show Sponge’s face because of traditional and safety reasons. Bad things happen out there and we would rather not regret later,” Babes said at the glamorous screening event.
It’s another season of incredible highs and moments of raw honesty with Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha.
