Jessica – Ilse-Lee van Niekerk

Wedding and event planner Jessica has everything sorted – except her own love life. When we meet her, she’s at the top of her game, has just been offered an amazing job opportunity and is dating the delectable Dawid. But is all this what Jessica really wants? Luckily, she has some great girlfriends to help her figure it out.
Jessica is played by the bubbly Ilse-Lee van Niekerk, known for her roles in Getroud met Rugby, 4 Mure and Die Boekklub.
Luca – Blyde Smit

Jessica’s younger sister, Luca is a super-geek more comfortable communicating in Klingon than talking about matters of the heart. A coder, she works for Abi’s dad, Karel, and spends a lot of time hanging out at Jake’s. But is the atmosphere of the bar she likes – or is there another reason she’s always there?
Blyde is a well-known face on the small screen – she made her name as the ten-year-old Kate in the first two seasons of the drama series Erfsondes and more recently in the soap 7de Laan as Gabby.
Abi – Bianca Flanders

Abi is loud and proud of who she is, even if she doesn’t have everything sorted all the time. A talented baker, she has a great feel for flour and sugar, but a terrible head for business. She’s bisexual, and she’s not afraid to pursue the person she wants. But who will really whip her meringue this season?
Bianca is known for starring in David Kramer’s award-winning musical District Six – Kanala, and more recently as Chrissie in Nêrens, Noord-Kaap. She’s also starred in local films Krotoa and Address Unknown.
Dawid – Armand Aucamp

Suave, handsome and not afraid to use his charms to get what he wants, Dawid is very happy to parade Jessica on his arm. He also works at Insight, heading up corporate events and taking no prisoners in presenting the perfect event for top-notch clients.
Armand Aucamp is one of South Africa’s most versatile actors, having made a name with parts like Tom in Die Boekklub, Ben Human in Sterlopers, Jan van Riebeeck in Krotoa, and Jacques Reynhard in the 2015 film Ballade vir ’n Enkeling. He also has his own cooking show, Armand Kook Kaal, and is the author of the eponymous cookbook.
Liam – Christiaan Schoombie

Liam is the brother of Jessica’s boss, Catherine. He’s also a talented chef who is contracted to many of the events they organise. But he’s not afraid to speak his mind, and he and Jessica immediately clash over the big wedding she’s planning.
Christiaan Schoombie’s career has taken him as far as New York, in productions alongside the likes of Idris Elba and Laurence Fishburne. He played Dr Tom Greeff in Binnelanders and starred in series including Warrior and Troy: Fall of a City.
Karel – Kevin Smith

Abi’s father Karel may appear gruff, but he’s got a heart of gold. He runs a web development company, and has been living with his partner, Nathan, for years. Is he ready to take the next step?
Veteran actor Kevin Smith is a well-known face on TV. We got to know him years ago as Andrew on Egoli before playing roles in Isidingo, Backstage, Scandal!, Suidooster, Erfsondes, the Showmax series Skemerdans, and even Quentin Tarantino’s movies From Dusk Till Dawn 2 & 3.
Nathan – Melt Sieberhagen

Karel’s partner, Nathan, is everybody’s best friend. A generous host, he’s a loving father to his Matric-aged son, Kevin (Armand Barnard), who’s unexpectedly come to live with the couple, bringing all his teenage angst.
Melt Sieberhagen is one of SA’s best-known faces, having starred in everything from District 9 to Ballade vir ‘n Enkeling.
Stefan – Evan Hengst

Stefan is the barman at Jake’s, the gang’s favourite hangout. He’s always up for a chat, and he’s happy to help Luca work out her guy dramas. Has he been relegated to the friend zone?
Evan Hengst is well known for playing Miles in the Netflix trilogy The Kissing Booth and several international series.
Catherine – Tinarie van Wyk Loots

Liam’s sister, Catherine, is also Jessica’s boss. She’s booked off work after an … unfortunate incident, leaving Jessica to run weddings for Insight. She’s tough but fair.
Tinarie van Wyk Loots is one of the best known faces on South African TV. See her in Die Spreeus, 4 Mure, Dwaalsters, Fynskrif and more.
Rebecca – Anlezia Moné

As Jessica’s more junior colleague, Rebecca doesn’t always play nice. She’s happy to cut a few corners to get what she wants.
Anlezia is best known for her work on popular comedy series Alles Malan.
Kobus – Hendrik Niewoudt

Kobus is Jessica’s assistant and he’s always there to help her get the job done!
Hendrik was also seen in Moffie and Tydelik Terminaal.
Theo – Edwin van der Walt

Theo is an acquaintance of Jessica’s who just might help her advance her career. And he’s pretty flirty, too.
Edwin is a writer and actor who’s been seen in productions including Fynskrif, Die Spreeus and Wonderlus.
Mnr Naude – Peter Butler

Mnr Naude is the boss of Insight Events, and he’s a tough nut to crack. He doesn’t beat around the bush when he’s not pleased with his employees – and Jessica is the focus of his wrath more than once.
Veteran actor and voice artist Peter Butler is perfect for this role. He had a long career on the stage, and has also acted in movies like Maze Runner: The Death Cure and The Poseidon Adventure.
Lizelle & Francois – Lea Vivier & Ludwig Binge

Lizelle and Francois’s wedding hangs in the balance when Catherine is booked off sick. Luckily, Jessica is there to save their Big Day. She’ll just have to deal with Lizelle’s mother first.
The happy couple is played by Lea Vivier – seen in Showmax Original DAM, as well as in Binnelanders, the movies Wonderlust, Fynskrif and more – and Ludwig Binge, a writer and actor who’s written for Suidooster and ‘n Boere Krismis and starred in Ekstra Medium, Die Spreeus and Kanarie.
Petru – Ira Blanckenberg

Petru is your ultimate nightmare mother and future mother-in-law. Not short of cash, she’s determined to have her moment in the spotlight at her daughter’s perfect wedding. No matter what.
Ira Blanckenberg is known for Toorbos, Twee Grade van Moord and Griekwastad, among many other roles in her long career.
