Dexter S1-8
The most dangerous killers are those with the power to cover up their crimes. Like Michael C Hall’s chilling, thrilling character Dexter Morgan. Because he’s a blood spatter specialist in the Miami PD, he can hide his grisly handiwork.
The thing about this show isn’t just that you enjoy seeing Dexter mete out justice by killing criminals who’ve got away with their crimes, but rather that you’re learning at the same time. Like how to tell if someone’s throat was slashed left to right rather than right to left, based on how the spatter hits the wall.
The writing is dark and intelligent, the acting is gorgeously macabre, and the crimes are just so perfectly executed that Dexter is the kind of killer you want to be, says Jennifer M Wood at wired.com: “The line between good and evil isn’t a clearly marked one, and it’s certainly not a straight one. Few antiheroes have made that point more distinctly than Dexter Morgan, who makes us examine the space in between good guy and bad guy – and keeps the audience rooting for a serial killer.”
