Empini episodes 33-34 recap: The alpha protection team
The tension ramps up in Empini this week as Ndoni decides the best way to uncover the truth about Zenzele is to keep him close, while Zenzele finds himself in more danger than ever. Thobani blames Ndoni for the escalating situation, and Winnie’s darkest fears begin to take shape. Here’s what went down:
Keeping Zenzele close

Ndoni asks Madlopa to use his contacts to gather information about the men who shot at Zenzele. Madlopa advises her to stay close to Zenzele, but warns her against becoming his primary bodyguard. With Zenzele being targeted, it’s too risky for Ndoni to take on that role.
Thobani’s warning

Despite Madlopa’s concerns, Ndoni offers to be part of Zenzele’s alpha protection team as BG1, but Thobani strongly objects, calling her a wild card. Zenze questions Thobani’s reluctance and insists Ndoni take on the job.
Dora’s unexpected advice - and suspicions!

Dora stops by MPS to meet Zenzele for the first time. Offering unsolicited advice, she tells him that life is about more than work and money, and promises to help if he ever needs it. Later, she visits the General, fishing for information about who tried to kill Zenzele. She suspects the General and Uhuru might be involved, given their animosity toward Zenzele.
Dinner date trickery

Zenzele tricks Ndoni into going out for dinner with him, under the guise of being his bodyguard, but it quickly becomes clear he intends it as a date. She’s unimpressed, especially when she learns he gave his security team the night off. Despite her reluctance, they bond over dinner, and in a moment of vulnerability, Zenzele nearly confesses to Ndoni that Khaya is still alive.
Another attack

But before he can spill the beans, shots ring out! In another attempt on Zenze’s life, Ndoni is caught in a gunfight. The assailant flees the scene and Zenze is shaken but thankfully unharmed.
Thobani’s fury

Thobani is furious with Ndoni for not following protocol, blaming her for the close call. However, Zenze defends her, reminding Thobani that Ndoni saved his life.
Winnie’s frustration

Winnie is equally livid - the hitman she hired failed to kill Zenze once again. Her frustration boils over as her plans continue to fall apart.
DNA results loom

The board gathers to hear the long-awaited DNA results. The tension in the room is electric. Will the results prove Zenzele is Khaya’s true son? You’ll need to stay tuned to Showmax for next week’s episode to find out! New episodes of Empini drop every Thursday.
