Gulder Ultimate Search
Africa’s biggest survival reality TV series, Gulder Ultimate Search, is back for its 12th season! The show, which began in 2004, ran for 11 consecutive seasons, including 2010’s celebrity edition, before taking a seven-year hiatus. It returns thanks to Africa Magic.
The Gulder Ultimate Search is all about survival of the fittest. A group of worthy young men and women go into the jungle to retrieve a lost treasure; whoever finds it is rewarded with fame and fortune. But they must battle the wild, harsh weather conditions and their fears to reach the final line.
Young Nigerians across the country went through a rigorous screening process to qualify for the show. Eighteen of them were chosen for this year’s edition, titled The Age of Craftmanship. Only the smartest and bravest will become the ultimate craftsman. The winner will be rewarded with 50 million Naira.
The Age of Craftmanship edition will be hosted by media darling Toke Makinwa and season 7 winner Kunle Remi returns as a taskmaster. The Nollywood actor spoke to Punch about his excitement on returning to the show. “Eleven years later, I am in the jungle but not as the same person that was there back then, and that is growth,” he says.
The Gulder Ultimate Search airs every Saturday and Sunday on DStv and GOtv, and the latest episodes are also available to watch on Showmax.
