Heavy K puts his magic touch on Grassroots song
“Amaqhawe”, better known as the Grassroots song, made its debut in August 2019 and received a positive response from the public for its uplifting message and beautiful words.
Upon hearing the song for the first time, Moshe Ndiki said, “This song definitely gives me a feeling of hope. It resonates so much with me and my life story because, as long as I’m not dead, there is still something to be done about the problem.”
Taking the song to the next level is multi-award-winning artist Heavy K. In collaboration with vocalist Siba, who wrote the song, Heavy K was keen to add his spin to the tune.
“When I heard this song, I knew I had to jump on it. It brings back so many memories and reminds me of how far I have come to get where I am today. Yithi amaqhawe.”
Now that the first season of Grassroots has ended, you can binge all thirteen episodes on Showmax. Following two young men from feuding rural families as they make their way in a posh private school in Jozi, it’s been a hit for its dramatic storylines and cliffhanger ending.
