Igiza episode 5 recap: CJ meddles and Nicole’s cover is almost blown

Igiza episode 5 opens on Linda in the prison hospital, making a furtive phone call to CJ—you’ll remember him as the delicious photographer she was enjoying on the side. She needs his help, but CJ’s having none of it. As far as he’s concerned, Linda chased him away like a dog. Of course, we know it was Nicole who did the chasing… 

Luckily, Linda gets through to him, and CJ goes to prison to see her. Slick and stylish, he’s a fish out of water in the drab surroundings. They share a desperately poignant moment when he promises Linda that he’ll do anything to help get her out of there. And we almost believe him. 

In the meantime, Nicole and Dom plot to get their hands on Reggie’s money. Dom plans to follow Reggie to see if he receives any cash, while Nicole has to deal with some problems with Ian. His school called, and he’s gone missing again.

Except, the call from school is a ruse. It’s all part of CJ’s cunning plan to corner Nicole and confront her about her true identity. It seems the cat is really out of the bag, but instead of demanding a way to release Linda, he asks for his own cut of the money, or he blows Nicole’s cover. So much for true love. 

At work, Reggie and David (the “babysitter” that Chris has put in place to keep an eye on Reggie) arrive at the hideout where at least 50 “Mikes” in cash is ready for wash-wash. It’s the first shipment that will need to be cleared through the two new boutiques, within the next month.  

Back in prison, Linda manages to convince the warden that she’s not Nicole. But he can’t release her until Nicole is back behind bars. 

It looks to us like Nicole’s plans are really starting to fall apart. Things take a turn for the worse when Nicole takes the promised Ksh 5 million to CJ, only there’s no money. Matty, her not-so-best friend, pulled a switch. As they say, “Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer.”

Will Nicole manage to hold it together? Will Reggie manage to pull off the wash-wash? And will Linda make it through another night behind bars? Be sure to catch Igiza on Showmax next Monday.
