Jan S1-4
Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen, South Africa’s first Michelin-star chef, has dazzled viewers with his culinary adventures through some of the most beautiful places in the world – from Apricale in Italy to the Kalahari in South Africa.
In the fourth season, he delves deeper into South Africa’s culinary traditions and gives us a sneak peek into his latest project, the transformation of a small 1712 farmhouse set in a lavender field into something truly unique and special.
As always, Jan finds inspiration for the dishes in his restaurant in Nice, France on home soil, blending ideas from old South African cookbooks with unique products he’s discovered in European markets. But in the new season, he turns to his special guests for inspiration, preparing a unique dish for each individual as they cook, connect, talk about life and share old recipes, traditions and dishes they remember. Look out for celebrities like Coenie de Villiers, Ina Paarman, chef Mokgadi Itsweng and Tannie Evita Bezuidenhout this season.
S3 was nominated for Best Variety Show at the 2022 SAFTAs, a category it won in 2019.
