Jason Bourne (2016)
Matt Damon is on the run again in 2016 action thriller Jason Bourne.
This is the fifth and final film in the franchise. It’s set 12 years after the events of The Bourne Ultimatum (2007) and while Agent Bourne has regained his memory (while bare-knuckle boxing), he’s still searching for answers about his role in a secret CIA operation and why he was recruited. And that paints a target on his back – again.
Matt is joined by Julia Stiles (Bourne’s contact Nicky) and the cast adds Tommy Lee Jones, Ato Essandoh and Alicia Vikanders for some extra oomph. Keep an eye on Vincent Cassel – he’s perfectly evil as assassin The Asset.
It’s a great movie overall, but perhaps the right time to leave, reviews Peter Bradshaw at theguardian.com: “This new movie, being simply called Jason Bourne, perhaps indicates a kind of human summation, a drawing the line under the series – I remember Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky Balboa hinting at something similar.”
All the Jason Bourne movies are available to stream now – check out The Bourne Collection for more.
