Living the Dream With Somizi Season 5 episode 4: A star-studded party
Living The Dream With Somizi Season 5 episode 4 begins with an intimate dinner with Somizi’s famous friends at a penthouse, and ends at a picturesque villa overlooking the ocean. It’s the Somgaga way…
There are parties and then there are Somizi’s get-togethers, where everything is over the top. The choreographer’s 49th birthday theme is Glitz, and the night doesn’t disappoint as it features a fancy menu at a top hotel in Johannesburg, and an A-list guest list including musician Cassper Nyovest and actress Pearl Thusi. Somizi and his guests are dressed to the nines and “we are shining like the stars we are,” he says.
At the party, Cassper and Somizi discuss the musician’s infamous boxing match that took place in December last year. They joke that Somizi should also get into a boxing ring with his estranged husband Mohale Motaung to settle their feud. “Let’s do it,” says Somizi, with a laugh before adding, “I think it’s a brilliant concept.”
The occasion is a success and for a second Somizi forgets about his divorce drama, but in the morning he faces reality. He packs Mohale’s belongings into boxes for a delivery truck to send “to wherever Mohale is”. While Somizi has been looking forward to closing the chapter on his failed marriage, the process is overwhelming. “There are items that take me back to memories, places and incidents. It’s bound to be emotional,” reveals Somizi.
After the gloomy morning, Somizi prepares for part two of his birthday extravaganza. He flies to Cape Town with his loved ones, to a stunning villa, which is exactly what he needs as he recently received a letter from Mohale’s attorneys in which Mohale demands half of Somizi’s assets.
Somizi asks his friend and entrepreneur Shauwn Mkhize to connect him with her lawyers as he seeks to protect himself. In episode 5, Somizi and his family will continue their Cape Town adventure.

It’s a few days until the new year and media darling extraordinaire Somizi Mhlongo will be the first to admit that 2021 was a rollercoaster ride. He is grieving his veteran actress mother Mary Twala’s death, and he is in the midst of a hostile divorce with Mohale Motaung. However, Somizi puts his problems behind him to celebrate his 49th birthday party with an A-list guest list.
The who’s who of Mzansi are in attendance and the party goes as well as anticipated.
After the first celebration, Somizi packs Mohale’s belongings into boxes so that he can move on from their failed union. “It’s not a nice feeling. Not even once did I think that I would be packing away a partner’s clothes,” says an emotional Somizi.
To continue with his birthday, Somizi and those close to him jet off to Cape Town for a relaxing weekend at a beach villa.
