Love Back S5: Siphiwe and his ungodly ways
Another week, another hopeless romantic trying to bring back their lost lover. This time around, Mzwandile Ngubeni found himself in the heart of Diepkloof in Soweto where he would be speaking to Siphiwe in the hopes that he could bring back his lady.
From “in a relationship” to “single”
We met Siphiwe, a hard-working man with a love for Jesus Christ. His biggest passion in life was helping young people affected by drugs to work their way out of addiction. Although his career was noble, his love life wasn’t.
He shared the story with us about how he met his partner, Noluthando, and how at first, she was the perfect person for him. Unfortunately, Siphiwe wasn’t comfortable sharing his profession with her and perhaps this is where things began to go wrong.
For instance, Siphiwe opened up about how his ministry required him to spend time with the people that he was trying to save. This also meant spending a lot of unsolicited time with other women, and let’s just say Noluthando didn’t take too well to that. The tension built up, and eventually he had to choose between God and her. When he chose God, she packed her bags and left!
Is there any way back?
We met Noluthando, who appeared to be a quiet and shy young lady, so you can imagine how taken aback she was when her ex-partner showed up without any notice. From the get-go, you could sense that this was going to be a difficult conversation.
Noluthando accused him of only loving her when she was out of the picture. She also continued to bring up the past about his supposed work, and she hinted that he could have been doing some ungodly things behind the scenes.
“Become a snake yourself”
Siphiwe tried to explain how his profession worked. He opened up about how, if you needed to help snakes, you had to become a snake yourself. This isn’t a metaphor that landed well in Mzansi and Noluthando wasn’t impressed either.
Noluthando opened up about his lies and his dodgy behaviour, especially during the time she was pregnant. The trust between the two was completely broken and Noluthando didn’t look like she wanted to give this another go.
The moment of truth
Siphiwe continued to explain himself and he begged mercilessly for a second chance. Noluthando would not cave in easily but the pastor persisted. When Mzwandile returned to ask if a love-back was on the cards, Noluthando said she would give him another opportunity to win her heart – but they would not be living together during this time.
For Siphiwe, that was definitely better than nothing and hopefully he takes his next opportunity seriously.
